Sitting at the feet of Jesus

This Sunday we were joined by a friend of Newlife - Rev Ralph Mayhew, lead minister of Burleigh Village Uniting Church. Rev Ralph walked through the stories of Mary and her sister Martha and their interactions with Jesus over several encounters: - Luke 10:38-42 - Mary sitting at Jesus feet while Martha served - John 11:17-34 - Mary falling at Jesus feet at the death of Lazarus - John 12:1-8 - Mary anointing Jesus feet The time spent at Jesus' feet was central to Mary's intimacy and discipleship, fulfilling a role as disciple that would've been unheard of in the first century. Rev Ralph reminds us that wonderful, beautiful and unearthly things happen at the feet of Jesus.
