What are our bodies for? Or perhaps a better question - WHO are our bodies for? Rev Michael Hands walks us through Paul’s challenge to the Corinthian understanding of sex and the body, redeeming their ideas of what God made our bodies for. The Corinthians had a misguided understanding of God’s vision for our bodies and expressed it through a broken sexual ethic. The body is so much more than what Plato described as a ‘prison for the soul’ - a mere vessel to be used to fulfill our desires. And our identity is more than our looks, our desirability and our ability to please others.
