Leadership and Church Planting Pastor
Description
We are seeking a Pastor for Leadership and Church Planting to play a strategic role across the Newlife Family of Churches, embedding a dynamic leadership development culture and advancing a vision of multiplication through church planting.
Working closely with the Lead Minister, Executive Pastor and Family Leadership Team, this role will raise and release gospel-centred leaders and build strong denominational, ecumenical and network partnerships.
Key responsibilities include:
· Implementing and embedding a culture of leadership development across the Newlife Family of Churches.
· Driving strategic church planting initiatives, including planning, recruiting, equipping and supporting new plants.
· Overseeing leadership development pipelines, including the Catalyst Emerging Leaders program and the Newlife Church Planting Residency.
· Developing and stewarding a Learning Management System (LMS) for scalable, theologically grounded leadership training.
· Designing and facilitating training pathways, coaching environments and residency intensives for emerging leaders and planters.
· Building external networks and partnerships to support church plants and planters.
· Providing regular Sunday presence, preaching and teaching across locations, contributing to pastoral leadership and culture.
The successful candidate will bring:
· Accreditation and an undergraduate-level theological/ministry qualification, or equivalent, and the ability to be accredited as a pastor within the Uniting Church.
· Demonstrated capacity to develop and equip leaders, with passion and experience in church planting and church growth.
· Proven preaching and teaching gifts, and experience in disciple-making and multiplication.
· Excellent relational, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and manage competing priorities.
· A deep commitment to Christ, to the mission and ethos of Newlife and the Uniting Church, and to a positive, Christ-centred team culture.
