Newlife Church Brisbane is a growing church with a desire to see renewal in the city of Brisbane. We are also part of a wider movement whose mission is to see more people more like Jesus by planting and leading thriving local churches. As our Generations Pastor, you will...
- Provide Pastoral Oversight & Leadership
- Cast and communicate vision for generational ministry, integrating every age group into the fabric and future of church life.
- Lead Ministry Development & Strategic Direction
- Strategically oversee and evaluate age-specific ministries, ensuring they help us see more generations more like Jesus.
- Form Teams & Empower Volunteers
- Recruit, equip, and release volunteer leaders for significant ministry roles, championing a volunteer-empowered culture of ministry.
- Implement Systems Excellence in Ministry
- Design and implement robust ministry structures, practices, and documentation that allow generational ministries to thrive sustainably under volunteer leadership.
- Promote Missional Integration & Community Engagement
- Champion outreach and evangelism initiatives tailored to each age group, including meaningful engagement with local schools, campus ministries, and city-wide events.
What you need to have and be...
- Relevant theological/pastoral qualifications or training
- Demonstrated experience in children/youth ministry leadership and volunteer team development.
- A heart for the next generation.
- Capacity for strategic planning, creative vision-casting, and effective administration.
- Relationally mature, spiritually vibrant leader; committed to Newlife’s vision, values, and renewal movement.
- Strong relational, mentoring, and communication skills and a commitment to continuous professional and spiritual growth.
- Personable, with a commitment to building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Newlife Family of Churches, the Presbytery of South Moreton and the Qld Synod of the Uniting Church.
- Demonstrated ability to act with impartiality and honesty.
- Knowledge of, and commitment to working within, the purpose and values of the Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod and adhering to the policies, organisational requirements and processes of the Uniting Church and of Newlife Church. The successful applicant will be required to comply with the Uniting Church’s Code of Ethics and Ministry Practice.
