The Christmas Project
In 2023 the Christmas Project provided 600 hampers to families and individuals so they could celebrate Christmas with food for a Christmas lunch or dinner as well as age appropriate toys and gifts for children up to 15 years of age.
The families come mainly from the Newlife Care support network and from 45 agencies that provide support for people in need in the local Gold Coast community.
Christmas hampers include hams, Christmas puddings, vegetables, snacks and dessert. The gifts range from toys of all types and sizes, skateboards, soft toys, dolls, toy cars, puzzles and games. The Christmas Project is funded by donations.
Because of generous organisations and individuals we are able to provide the contents of food hampers and toys. Each year a team of generous volunteers assist with sorting, unpacking, packing, shopping, documenting and cleaning up.
